WHAT ARE
MISSIONS?
From providing basic necessities, repairing homes, or offering medical aid in underserved areas, to praying for and with people who do not know God. If you are sharing the love ofJesus you are on a mission!
HELP FOR
HOMES
A program to assist victims of natural disasters in our community by helping with roof leaks, drywall repairs, plumbing, and painting.
In partnership with WMU (Woman’s Missionary Union), we have blessed over 150 homes in the RGV and extended our program to support local churches.
FOOD
DISTRIBUTION
Being at the top in the country for low-income areas, this ministry serves thousands of families in need.
-
1.8 million food boxes distributed in 14 months as part of the Farmers to Families Food Box Program.
-
Intermediaries distributing tons of donations from private companies through local churches.
PULPIT MINISTRY
In 2016 we had 27 pastorless churches. So far, we have filled the pulpit 217 times and have helped install pastors for 22 churches.
Our goal is to grow God’s kingdom by identifying future pastors and equipping them to preach the gospel.
WINTER TEXANS
Our Winter Texans Ministry is formed by a recurrent group of lovely volunteers who handcraft over 2500 stockings each christmas season.
They sew the stockings using recycled or donated fabric, and fill them with donated toys or wooden cars, which are assembled and painted by our volunteers themselves.
These stockings are finally distributed through Baptist churches serving all the Valley.
VBMEC offers several opportunities for volunteering in missions and many educational options for church leaders to enrich their knowledge.
Our main camp is open year round and our team will be happy to help you coordinate any kind of missionary work for your organization!
